Based in Newbury, a qualified Maths Teacher with enhanced CRB clearance and a history of improving tutees' expected exam marks by at least two grades.
Covering the Newbury area, the first meeting introduces tutor to tutee [with parent present] and to chat about how the tutee feels about Mathematics, their school, their homework.
This gives an idea as to the type of learner the tutee might be. It also gives the tutee an opportunity to decide whether he/she can work with the tutor and gives the parent a chance to talk about possible strategies.
When I'm not tutoring Maths to children of concerned parents I'm a Software Trainer, Podcast Producer, Excel Spreadsheet consultant and amateur musician.
Can provide excellent references including parents of past tutees and a local head teacher.

Using a wide variety of attention-keeping methods like games designed to help number bonds and multiplication; to pattern-spotting or constructing shapes with link cubes in order to explore relationships between numbers; to number size appreciation. We also look at how to read big numbers and how to follow instructions in text books. Over the hour we hope to grow an enthusiasm for Maths.
